Lou and Andy's Visit Cont..........The Great BIG Sat Night Out!!!

Saturday night!

Well what a night! Let me start from the beginning....

Lou and I went to pick Hannah Stansfield up from the airport, stopped off on the way back for some of the old essentials.... Vodka & Cranberry Juice! Once back at the house we poured ourselves a lovely drink and had a good old gossip in the back garden.. great!!!

The came the time when we needed to get ready, so ready we got! The boys took about 10 mins while we had a good 1 hour ahhhhh relax....

The first point of call while we were out was a lovely Thi restaraunt in Fortitude Valley, it was BYO which means Bring Your Own (Alcohol) most places are like that in Australia. Well we all pulled out our bottles of wine... when it got round to Hanna..... well the student days still live on.... as she pulled out a great big 4 ltr box of Goon! (what Australians call cheap wine) it was quite nice tho.... tast like the wine back in the UK at Oscars in York. ha ha ha we new it was going to be a great night!!!!

After such a lovely meal we went to the Casino, where Si and Andy used their special tech and won some cash !

After the Casino, we hit a couple of pubs and ended up in a great bar called Fridays.... as it was Louises Birthday, we managed to blag a good 4 rounds of Vodka Redbull.... we needed it as Hannah had her bag of goon taken off her on the way in! Just before we heded off, the manager topped off our great night with a bottle of Champers!

After we headed for a good old feed at Mc D's, it was them time to head home.... yes we needed a Taxi! after a failure of trying to pursuade a taxi driver that a 5 man cab would fit 6 people, Hannah decided to hail a Maxi Cab......

The next min we know Hannah is knocked back from the road by a oncomming car oopps.... a car had run over her foot or bashed her ankle.... we could not see as it was dark... Hannah was taken by Ambulance to the local hospital to find that she had broken her ankle and she was to have a plate and 2 pins put in her ankle... poor cow!

Oh bless.... at least she is fine (Well apart from her ankle) it will be long recovery, and we hope she does not have to cut her trip short and go home..... we all have our fingers crossed! xx

Lou & Andy's Visit Cont........

Well we made it to Sea World!

First we made our way over to the Dolphin show..... I have never seen anything like it! I always wondered what the big fuss was woth Dolphins, but after seeing them I now know!

There were stunts like people riding them too.....

There were lots of animals to see, such a crocs, Polar Bears, Seals, Birds, Sharks, Fish.... Oh and talking about sharks, both Lou and I did a bit of diving while we were there!! Si and Andy opted out but watched through the glass and tool lots of photos as you can see....

We had to wear these funny helmets, it felt like walking on the moon (well not that we have done it but we can imagine) Air was pumped into the helmets and were very heavey so we would sink! But Heather would like this....... You did't even get your hair wet or even ruin your makeup!!!!

As we walked at the bottom, it was hard not to stand on the starfish ahhhggggg.... there were lots of fish, and we went over to this great big glass wall where we were face to face with the massive man eating sharks!!! now that was scary!!! there were sting rays bigger than I have ever seen and fish too!!!!!If you cooked it up, it would prob last you six months!!!!!

In the tank we were in there were sharks and sting rays, but they were only baby's so we were quite safe(ish).....

After we headed off to a three d show where Si had lots of fun with the specks ha ha ha

And here are some more photos of some fish!

Yet another great day... oh and I can't forget Andy's great big Ice !

Lou & Andy's visit cont........

We didn't get up to much today as I has a interview in the morning. We had decided that we were going to go to Sea World, but by the time we got there it was about 1pm and we had not realised how big the place was! We thought it was just like The Deep back in the UK, but no it was huge! It was decided that we were going to make a full day of it, so would come back during the week.

Food called, and we drove into Surfers Paradise for some grub.... we has a walk on the beach and around some of the shops, then drove to Mount Tambourine to sample some wines!!

Well when we arrived, everything was shut up boo hoo, so we has a quick look at the views and headed back home.

Lou & Andy's vist cont.....

This was the day we went Whale watching! Bloody Brilliant!

We drove up to a place called Redcliffe about 1 hour drive from where we live.

The boat what we were on was called a catamaran http://www.brisbanewhalewatching.com.au

Here are some pics of us on the boat.

We sailed out to a place near Morton Bay, there were about 6 Whales around, 2 of them came right up to the boat! It was amazing! you don't realise just how big they actualy are, and it makes you wonder how they can jump out of the water that far!

Si spotted a sea snake too!

It was a great day, its not everyday you get to see a whale! there were some even fighting as it was mating season and they were fighting over a female. We felt quite scared at first as some were as big as the boat and could have sunk us if they wanted! But they don't even touch the boat, they come up for a nosey give a spray of water then swim back down under!

It makes you wonder what else is in the sea, if there are things as big as that in thier then there has got to be something bigger surely! We have so much to learn!

Today was the day Lou and Andy arrived in sunny Brisbane! We picked them up from the Airport early morning and headed back to our place for a good old Aussie brekki.

Later on that day we decided to take a trip to Mount Coo-tha for tea and to watch the sun set over Brisbane City, here are a couple of pics.

It was great to see them! Time for some trips, as we have not done any yet. So this is the first one! it s not far at all from where we live (about a 10 min drive from Simon's work). Its a great view, and could become a regular when our summer arrives!

After this I had a audition to sing in a band, so off Lou and I went for a bit of a singsong. I was a bit wary as some people I had spoken with in the past re joining their band were a bit WEIRD...... for example one was a naturest band and sung naked!!!!! bet you can tell what my reaction to that was ha ha ha...... well the one I went to this time was actually quite good, they want me to sing stuff from the top 40's, so could be really good! I just need to learn them all now ha ha ha.....

I felt a bit nervous, and nearly chickend out I hope they do like me and def join me up in the band it would be great! I love singing on stage (it gives me such a buz)!

On the way back we stopped for pizza from Dominos, Andy wanted to buy the whole shop! he can't belive how cheap they actually are! $5 for a large pizza (thats about £2.50). It is actually cheaper than getting the frozen ones from the supermarket......

We met up with some people from my work, drank lots of wine and ate lots of food!

The girl with me above is the person who used to do my job, before I started at RSL Care.

There was also Kate Cebrano singing! She did covers, its was quite good, there were also some other people playing too.... see photos....
