Old photos - memories of Mum & Dad

Today I finished my photo album of my Mum, I have been meaning to do this for such a long time and now I have pulled my finger out!

I just need to decorate the cover of the album then all is good! Also I have copied all the pictures across to Picassa so I can look at them on-line (and never loose them).

Thiess Christmas Party - (Sy's Work)

Tonight is Sy's  work Christmas party..... they always go all out as you can see from last years post. This year it was 80's theme..... lol

Sy loves it ha ha.... he decided to go dressed as one of the cops from Miami Vice lol...

And here we are together lol I just wore a black and pink dotty mini dress :)

There were lots of people entertaining, such as Johnny Rotton who was comparing and singing, then Michael Jackson.... then Kylie! Check out the dancers!

It was bloomin awesome! Sy loved it, he was dancing to all the 80's tunes ha ha ...

The place was packed with workers from all around Australia!

What a great party whoop whoop..... I love December :)

Another Suprise

I got to work today to find that Ruth & Brian have sent me a gift for mi Birthday! Ruth & Brian moved to Australia a couple of months before we did and Ruth and I used to work at RSL Care together! However They have now headed back home as they have decided that they missed the snow, wind and rain......

Thanks Ruth & Brian! I love Lush and especially the Snow Fairy! Well remembered, they don't have it over here in Brisbane yet. I think it only comes out at Christmas time...... I may have to stock up!








Then When I got home I had another 2 packages waiting on the doorstep!

These are from my lovely friends Steph and Rach! THANKS!

They told me not to forget my roots ha ha ha.... good old Yorkshire crisps,  a Yorkshire pen, bottle opener, snow globe and postcard all with the York Minster on ha ha I love them! As you can see the snow globe is now on the fridge! What a awesome present! Oh and I almost forgot the chocolate.... it was melted but tasted like English chocolate should yuuuummmmyyyyyyyy xxx

Then I opened my other parcel.....

Tee hee..... from the Grange Girls!!!!! I love it! Straight away Sy made room on the shelf in the living room for it! Now I need to come up with a name......... oooohhhhh made me feel a bit home sick as I do really miss all my family and friends boo hoo...... just what I needed a BIG HUG!

Again from the Grange Girls!!! A beautiful Pandora charm! THANKS! This has gone straight on my bracelet and when I am out with a glass of vino in my hand, I will look at my charm, close my eyes and think of you all..... Cheers xxx

My 30th Birthday - Part 2

Before I start, it seems that my camera is a day ahead so please ignore the date stamps as the photo's (except my gifts) were all taken on 26/11/2010.........

This morning I awoke to pancakes yum yum!

Sy will hate me putting this picture up ha ha, but he is doing such a good job how can I resist! And just look at the smile!

After Brekki we headed to my work as Heather had told me I had something to pick up woo hoo...... What a beautiful presents! Thanks!

I got some lovely charms for my bracelet!

I added them straight away! I love the charms as it means my family and friends are always here with me!


After our trip to work, both Sy and I headed down to the Gold Coast with aim for Mount Tambourine, however a last minute decision took us to Harbor Town where we had some lovely Sushi for lunch and did a spot of shopping!

Sy had a plan to take me out for dinner but we must have been in the last minute changing mood as we decided to cook dinner at home (Salmon steak on the BBQ with salad and new potato yum yum), all to be washed down with a bottle of Moet Champaign.......

This was followed by a game of Scrabble ha ha (yes Sy won, but I was not far behind).... I demand a re-match!!!

Again what a wonderful day and night! I could get used to this tee hee xx

My 30th Birthday

Well today is my Birthday.... but not just a normal Birthday..... it is my 30th Birthday! Well I started the day feeling old (even though people say that 30 is the new 20's) My lovely Simon made me some yummy breakfast while I opened my cards.....

 Then we headed out in the car, I had no idea where we were going! We got to the City and then Sy stopped and said righto.... this place is going to take care of you all day! Wow, it was amazing!

Aqua Salt Glow, Deluxe manicure and pedicure, Executive stress buster massage, Professional make-up, Hair salon Wash and blow dry, Including a delicious lunch yum yum

After we went to Yatala Drive in Movies to watch Due Date and Social Network (both good films)! Here we ate Dagwood Dogs, popcorn yum yum while getting eaten alive by Mozzies ha ha ha but t was all fun xx

Moving Blogs

Today I have moved from Live Journal to Blogger....... this way I can link to my Picassa account!

So much rain! Where has all the sun gone? Last weekend it rained, the weekend before it rained and now this weekend too! Back to work today and guess what..... Still raining..... Floods everywhere, roads closed, it's quite cool really as the rain is not just drizzle, it is full on pouring!

Girls Night Out

Time for a girls night out! Both Phillippa and Alyson came over to ours and got ready for the big night out whoop whoop!

Off we skipped to Belle's house for pre drinks and to meet up with all the girls...

Now off we headed into the City to meet up with more of the girls and have some wonderful food yum yum......

As you can see from the pictures below, we all had a great time :)

Here is a guy who thought he was so hot that he had his shirt all open lol.... we dared Belle to go have a photo taken with him ha ha ha 

 We danced until dawn....... what a great night!

River Fire / Powder Finger

Today was River Fire day.... this is a big event where just about everybody in Brisbane gather to watch fireworks go off all down the river with a big ending of a F1 11 jet doing a dump and burn..... great for the environment... not...... (which is why this is probably the last time they are going to be doing this)....

We started out at Southbank but then moved onto Fridays as it gave a better view of the Story Bridge (where the main fireworks are set off)....

So here we are sat enjoying a nice bottle of red wine and a lovely steak then a very good view of the fireworks.... I took mostly video but here are a couple of pics I managed to get....










I did not manage to get a picture of the jet as it went so fast I wanted to capture it on video..... it was amazing! the heat that comes from it is intense!

Also after this had finished I went to the bar to be confronted by 2 blokes..... anyway to cut a long story short.... Sy and I both ended up been given 2 tickets to watch Powder Finger (who were playing at the River Stage just down the road).... so off we scurried..... BLOODY BRILLIANT!!!







Well an unexpected surprise and a fantastic day :)
