Road Trip - part 3

It was time to explore Sydney........ we went to Darling Harbour, the day started off cool but towards midday it started to hot up phew..... should not have worn jeans! Anyway we dd a bit of sight seeing.....






We got chance to board the HMAS Vampire, the former Royal Australian Navy destroyer..... here are a few pics....

Then it was time to board the Submarine HMAS Onslow..... wow you would not belive how cramped it was.......

After we took a trip up the big sky tower, here are a couple of pics of the viws....





the sight seeing did not stop there...... off we went to the Opera House..... WOW it was awsome.... here we were sat right outside by the harbour side with a refreshing glass of white wine mmmmmm unfortunately the camera broke after the picture of the harbour bridge so no photos of the Opera House I am afraid........ only the bridge!




After a relaxing afternoon it was back to the hotel to get changed and back out for a romantic meal...... Si tried to be a cheap skate and get takeaway noddles from a bus station!!!!!!! I soon put a stop to that! ha ha ha I hope he was kidding..... we ended up back at Darling Harbour where we went for italian by the sea...... it was lovely.... followed by some cocktails at some great bars/clubs..... what a way to end the day xx

Road Trip - Part 4

It was time to head back to Brisbane.... so off we headed to Bondi Beach..... this was a bit dissapointing but never the less we are glad we visited..... it was very busy and a bit run down....... we dd not stay here very long.... back on the road to Coffs Harbour..... this place was lovely..... we stayed in a great cabin in a place called Timber Town.... it has a spar how romantic! any way we headed off to the Harbour, here we has the good old faithfull fish and chips by the sea mmmmmmmmmmmm it was great!!!!

We stayed the night here, then the next day headed home..... I wish the trip lasted longer it was one of the best we have done here..... we are so glad we drove down and did not fly..... we would have missed out on soooooo much, I would recoment the drive to anyone!!!!

Road Trip - Part 2

We awoke early as we had a long drive ahead of us...... it was a chilly day and looked like a storm was comming......







We seemed to drive out of the storm which was good, but hit a bit of traffic due to 36km of road works.....grrrrrrrr




6 hours later we arrived in Sydney..... here is a short video of us driving over the Sydney Harbour Bridge.....




Horray we have made it!!!!! into the hotel we went..... they had the most tight fitting carpark I have ever seen!!!!!! There was enough space for one car to drive in..... if someone was comming in the other direction..... it was a matter of chicken!!!!

Any way the hotel was nice, and off we went for some tea....mmmmmmmmmmm

Road Trip - Part 1

It was an ealy start for us..... we were going on a road trip to Sydney!!!!

The whole journey would be about 2000km....

However it was the night before and we did not think the trip was going to take place, there was a petrol shortage and could not fill up anywhere!!!! So we got up v early the next day as we had been tipped off that there would be a tanker comming about 2 in the morning...... so away we went at 6am with about $10 petrol left in the car in hope there would still be some left...... there was!!!!!!!! the road trip will commence!!!

The first stop was Byron Bay.... (I fell in love with it!!) The beaches were beautiful, the whole place was how I imagined Autralia would be like....... Breki was the first port of call...... it was such a relaxing place (very hippie) little babies in their cloth nappies with wooden beads on....was all very cute.... (no am not getting broody so dont even think about it!!)....

Then it was time for a nice laze on the beach......

After we took a trip up to the lighthouse.... as you can see it is very high up....





Then we took back to the road towards Port Macquarie where we would be staying in a Motel! (I have never stayed in one before so I was kinda exciting........)





Because we has been out on the beach most of the day, we got quite a good tan..... Si was a bit red on the face ha ha ha you can see where he had his sun glasses on!




The motel was nice and even had a pool!

Overall a great day..... to be cont.......

1st Christmas in Australia

Well today is Christmas day.... and boy does it feel weird! Its hot!.....

We stayed over at Paul and Annettes house.... it was great as they had the whole family over for the day! We woke early in the morning to open presents....




Here Annette was santa and handed out the presents.... and below is a pic of Si opening them




I got him a fishing rod!





We had a glass of bubbles...




It was a great day....we did however miss our family and friends back home tho...A LOT... we managed to get through to Si mum and dad and my dad and Heather and Michael... but the lines were so busy we could not quite get through to everyone boo hoo..


This picture is of Paul's dad, he actually built the ship that he is stood next to! It was a masterpiece!

Oh and I almost forgot to say.... Si bought me a beautiful Pandora Charm bracelet..he also got me 2 charms for it! a silver fish (which lookes cheeky) and a silver one with blue diamonds... I have no picture of it but I am sure you can view them on the internet x

The day was great, a bit emotional but great!! Merry Christmas xx

Sonya work Christmas do.......

Well, today was the work Christmas do! This year due to all the financial issues around the world, it was decided that it was going to be held at the work place.

we all finished work at 12 to find the kitchen filled with beer, wine and bubbles oh and food mmmmmm lots of Christmas trimmings... it was great! we even had secret santa.... Sumo santa came dressed in summer clothes ha ha ha .... was great... her are some pics:

Sy work Christmas do........

Now this was a Christmas party... his work had booked out the Convention Center, which is where all the big events are!

The theame was Western so we had to dress up!




They had kitted the whole place out with western! There were stalls like shooting the target and hoop the hoop around ... then they had got some acts in and one of them were a famous western singer.... (I had no idea who she was tho sorry)... here is a picture, see if you can guess??
